Shepard for Congress announced today the hiring of former Bud Cramer aide Howell Lee as campaign manager. “I am excited that Howell has joined our team,” commented Taze Shepard, Democratic candidate for the Fifth Congressional seat held by Parker Griffith.

Lee will oversee campaign activities throughout the District. He previously served as District Staff Director for Congressman Bud Cramer, and as campaign Finance Director for Friends of Bud Cramer.

The Shepard campaign also announced the appointment of Alex Hardy of Huntsville as finance chairman. Hardy is a former Director of Cummings Research Park, and a former member of the staffs of Congressman Terry Everett and Senator Richard Shelby. Hardy will oversee the volunteer activities of the campaign finance committee.

Democratic candidate Taze Shepard is a Huntsville businessman and attorney, and is a former elected member of the State Board of Education. Shepard is also the grandson of the late U.S. Senator John Sparkman, who held the congressional seat from 1936 to 1946. Shepard is married to the former Pamela Lang of Decatur.
